I painted this series as a way to explore the lives of others—ordinary and extraordinary—through abstraction. Each painting is a portrait, not of faces but of stories, emotions, and the traces people leave behind. I read detailed obituaries, letting the words shape colors and forms, translating lives into something visual, something felt. In abstraction, there is space for both presence and absence, for memory and interpretation. These paintings are not just about loss but about the weight and movement of a life lived.
